Japanese Sushi Thread Balls

Ingredients

1 cup - Prepared Sushi Rice (recipe as per SUSHI RICE)
1 pc - Brown chick peas {Lal Chana}
2 pcs - Black gram {Urad daal} {Arhar dal}
1 slice - Lotus root (semi boiled and into two pieces)
1 slice - Lotus root (semi boiled)
2 leaves - Spring onion
7 seeds - Corn (for flower)
Red bell pepper (cut into small pieces to put it on the corn to decorate the flower)
1 pc - Green chick peas {Hara Chana} (for centre of the flower)
1 leaf - Spinach (cut the leaf as a stem)

To Serve

Light soy sauce
Ginger
Wasabi

Method

Shape the rice into round balls, all of the same size.
Cover the remaining rice with damp cloth (to prevent the rice from drying).
Wrap the cling around the ball, twist to close the wrap tightly and to maintain the ball shape.
Place a brown chickpeas as a nose, two black gram for the eyes and cut the lotus root into two pieces and put it as the ears. Give a slight shape to the face with the fingers.
Decorate the other two balls in an artistic way like shown in the picture.
Serve with soy sauce, gingerand wasabi on the side.
