Dairy products like milk and yoghurt contain the amino acid tryptophan,triggering the production of serotonin and melatonin.
This helps to regulate the body's internal clock.
Deficiency of calcium in the diet can cause disturbed sleep pattern and a lack of deep sleep (REM).
Again, this is where dairy products step in once more as they are rich in calcium.
